Writing Coaching
You’re having those feelings again, aren’t you?
Impostor syndrome. Shame. Fear. Fatigue. Anxiety. Writer’s block. Procrastination. Resistance. Stuck. Burnout. Overwhelm. Self-doubt. And never, ever enough time.
What if you could start taking small, manageable, and actionable steps towards your writing today even if you’re feeling defeated by it?
If you're DONE feeling sh*tty about your writing--guilty, ashamed, and anxious--and ready to learn more productive strategies that get your important work completed, submitted, and published, let's talk.
I’m guessing that you’ve been struggling—alone and in silence—for a long time. But you don’t need to struggle with your writing alone anymore.
I'm here to offer you the kind of help you're probably afraid to ask for. I'm in the business of offering you kind, constructive, and actionable writing coaching that helps you do away with…
👉 wondering if you’re ideas or writing are good enough. Or worse, wondering if you’re good enough. (You’re absolutely good enough, for the record. <3)
👉 finishing your workday and realizing that you didn’t work on your writing project because you once again couldn’t find the time.
👉 the deep, dark feelings of shame, anxiety, guilt, and your absolute certainty that you shouldn't be here or that academic writing isn’t for people like you.
Asking for help with writing is sometimes the hardest part.
If you’ve ever wondered what academic writing might feel like if you had someone in your corner with you as you’re struggling through your feelings about writing, you’re in the right place.
A lot of coaches all over the internet would have you believe that you first have to overcome your fears about writing before you make any progress.
I personally think that’s some pretty serious crapola. When we work together in a coaching relationship, we won’t talk about overcoming fear around writing. Instead, we’ll come up with strategies to help you learn how to manage those big emotions better so you can be the productive writer you want to be despite the persistent voices of your inner gremlins.
In a series of four, eight, or twelve sessions, we’ll work on getting to the emotional root of your struggles so you can work on reaching your writing goals. We’ll define sustainable writing goals, assess your progress, break down big tasks into manageable chunks, and celebrate your wins.
Wouldn’t you love to finally learn how to get out of your own way so you could submit those half-finished writing projects, get your work published, and make an impact in your field? You’re in luck. That’s exactly what I help my clients do.
Some of the things we can work on include:
Accountability check-ins to keep you on track
The sweet self-harm of procrastination
Self-sabotage cycles
Managing (or juggling, more like it) multiple projects
Time management strategies
Setting boundaries to protect your writing time
Productivity strategies
Systems, processes, and tools to manage your research and get writing done
Procrastination (which is not a time management issue)
The emotional yuck: shame, fear, anxiety, impostor syndrome
